Lance Temple’s father, Zane, was once a famous gunfighter. But that perilous profession resulted in Lance’s mother’s death and Zane’s blindness. Consequently Zane has rejected guns and violence in all its forms and made his son swear an oath to never do violence or carry a gun “as long as he bore the name of Lance Temple.”

Luckily, the Texas Kid made no such promise. Lance kept his word on a technicality by adopting the masked identity of the Texas Kid, a mysterious gunman. With his sidekicks, an American Indian named Red Hawk and a Mexican named Emilio, the Texas Kid brings swift justice through his blazing gun barrels.
