X-Men: Ronin

Part of Marvel’s recently created “Mangaverse”, this title re-imagines the classic X-characters in the light of popular Japanese manga. Wolverine is updated with a set of laser claws on one hand; Cyclops, now Wolverine’s brother, has an updated look and more mystical feel; Shadowcat has her own clan of Ninja. Other titles in this series of mini-series have been successful, like the manga-ized version of Peter Parker Spider-man, and this newest addition is a fun and entertaining read. Drawn in a classic manga style with big eyes and frenetic action pacing, this is a great place for someone interested in Japanese comics to sample something familiar in a new interpretation.
