Wolverine/Hulk
(Marvel, 2002)
™ and ©2002 Marvel Characters, Inc.
Ever since his debut in the pages of the Incredible Hulk, Wolverine has always had a strange and fascinating link with Bruce Banner’s jade-hued alter ego. But in all of their encounters over the years, few have been stranger and more fascinating than this one, a Marvel Knights limited series written and drawn by Sam Kieth (Sandman). Here, Logan has crash-landed in some godforsaken frozen tundra. Injured, dazed, half-dead from exposure, Wolverine finds himself face-to-face with a strange young girl, who appears from thin air, begging Logan’s help to save her father, also injured in a plane crash. Although not quite believing his senses, Logan follows the girl until she leads him unexpectedly to her “Uncle Bruce” (three guesses as to who that is). While the girl may or may not be a complete figment of Logan’s addled imagination, Banner, transformed into the Hulk, is most definitely real, and hell-bent on pounding Wolverine to pieces. Should Logan pop his claws and get down to doing what he does best, or should he try to calm the Hulk and get to bottom of this vexing mystery facing them both?
