Part X-Men spin-off and part Iron Giant, Sentinel tells the story of a high school kid whose father owns a junk yard. Something of a mechanical genius, the boy comes across a strange computer chip motherboard among the scrap heap. Unknown to the boy, this is the control chip for a dismantled and apparently destroyed mutant-hunting Sentinel robot. Using the chip in his own Robot Wars style mini-bot, the chip begins to reassemble the Sentinel and finds it self at the command of the castoff, bullied high school student. Can you imagine what you would do with that kind of power at your fingertips? Well, critically acclaimed writer Brian K. Vaughn (Y: the Last Man, The Hood) sure has a bevy of fun-filled and action-packed ideas for the duo. Part of Marvel’s new Tsunami line, Sentinel has a definitely manga-influenced flair, but is accessible to anyone looking for a good entertaining read.
