(Caliber, 1991)
™ and ©1991 Michael Lark
In Capital City, government is the biggest business of all. The city is controlled by corporations, which are in turn governed by the Director. All municipal decisions are based on profitability, and their benefit or harm to the citizenry is of little or no concern. In such a climate, rebellion will inevitably grow, but against such a powerful organization it would have little or no chance to flourish.
Jon Pure is an elusive underground singer using music to spread a message of defiance, while radio personality Paisley assumes that her popularity allows her to ignore the corporate-sanctioned playlist. Unfortunately, they’re both about to learn the extent of the Director’s power as the scope of his latest scheme becomes clear. His plan to brainwash every citizen of Capital City has already been put in effect, and security teams are moments away from terminating the only two people left with any hope of stopping him.
