Marvel Spotlight: Fantastic Four/Silver Surfer

After two hit movies, the Fantastic Four are more popular than ever. However, the current team is not the familiar foursome we’re used to. Of course, it’s not the first time the roster has changed, despite the close ties of the original members.

Newcomers Black Panther and Storm are featured, as well as other members through the years, whether temporary replacements, or additions briefly forming the Fantastic Five. Looking back, Walt Simonson’s run, collected in Fantastic Four: Visionaries, is profiled, along with Jack Kirby’s Galactus trilogy. For Ben Grimm fans, there’s the top 10 Thing stories. Discussing FF: The End, Stan Lee and Alan Davis reveal their two very different “final” FF stories. Other interviews include Erik Larsen, Dwayne McDuffie, and Paul Pelletier. As for the FF’s cosmic pal, there’s preview art from J. Michael Straczynski’s Silver Surfer: Requiem.

Featuring detailed history while still promoting new projects, this is one of the better Marvel Spotlight issues.
