Part of the second wave of comics from Alan Moore’s America’s Best Comics line, Terrific Tales is to Tom Strong what Superman Family was to Superman: a collection of short stories featuring all the supporting cast of the regular Tom Strong comic, such as Tesla, Tom’s daughter, tales of a young Tom Strong, and new characters to the Strong universe, such as Jonni Future. Most of the stories are written by Moore, and each one is drawn by a different major artist including Arthur Adams (Longshot, X-Men), Jaime Hernandez (Love and Rockets) and others. Although most of the stories are self-contained, the Jonni Future story by Adams is an ongoing serial, done in the tradition of a Saturday morning sci-fi matinee. At $3.50, it’s well worth the price of admission, and a show that no Tom Strong fan will want to miss.
