Teresa Gottman, or Flare, is gifted with the power of light. Like her namesake, Flare is able to project extremely bright bursts of light capable of blinding people. She can also fly and has enhanced strength. Flare is a powerful member of the League of Champions as well as being the sister of Sparkplug, who possesses the power of lightning.

This series reprints classic issues of the Flare series. Although Flare is quite powerful, she is also rather emotional. She falls in love quite easily. This flaw in her character only seems to cause her problems.

This series is published as a flip-book with Champions Classics which reprints classic issues of the League of Champions. That group consists of Icestar, Icicle, Rose, Flare, and others. As a super-group, they are remarkable not only for their high-powered battles with bad guys, but also for their very human battles with life.
