Watching Days Become Years

Jeff LeVine has set down views of life (we assume his own) in word and illustrations within this forty page black-and-white comic. It’s not exactly a story. . . there’s not really a narrative thread running through it. It feels more like a poem. An examination of days in someone’s life. One and two page vignettes chronicle thoughts, hopes, dreams, and memories. There’s thoughts on working as well as living in the city. He seems to have been in several during the telling of this tale- Chapel Hill, San Francisco, etc. To some, this title will open minds to new thoughts as to what a comic book can aspire to be. To others, it’s the notes of a guy who hates his job, is tired of life and probably should be on prozac.

It’s different.
