To every generation, a slayer is born, but for two hundred years no one has been called. Now in a dystopian future, Meleka Fray is informed of her destiny, via a self-immolating watcher. Far from an innocent high school girl like Buffy Summers, Mekela is a thief and enforcer for a mutant gang boss. Her job on the shady side of society is a sore point for her sister, a police sergeant, and her residence in the slum called Versi is far removed from Sunnydale.

Joss Whedon, the writer/creator of the television series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has brought the latest iteration of his popular concept to comics in this eight-issue series from Dark Horse.
