Walt Disney achieved many feats in his lifetime, producing one of the first sound cartoons (Mickey Mouse in Steamboat Willie), one of the first color cartoons (Flowers and Trees), one of the first animated feature films (Snow White), and building one of the first theme parks (Disneyland). Mary Poppins is considered by many Disney scholars to be the crowning achievement of all of his various endeavors, as it includes live-action, animation, and various special effects such as an audio-animatronics bird. The public agreed and this highly successful film about a magical nanny made movie stars out of Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke.
