Red Fury
(High Impact, 1997)
™ and ©1997 Ricky Carralero
In feudal Japan, the evil Overlord waits for the birth of his sixth child. After five girls, he has made a deal with Satan to deliver him a son. When the birth is revealed to be a female, the Overlord loses his mind and slays the infant and the rest of his useless children. Cut to eighteen years later, as the lord discovers his sixth child, Red, is indeed alive and hiding in a distant city. He seeks out his daughter to finish what he started the day she was born. When Red meets her father and defeats him in combat, her family is avenged and Red Fury is born.
Competently drawn but featuring embarrassingly bad dialog and almost no correct grammar, Red Fury is a pedestrian entry into the comic book “bad girl” craze of the mid-1990s.
