The Beagle Boys versus Uncle Scrooge
(Whitman, 1979-1980)
™ and © Western Publishing Company, Inc.
Though The Beagle Boys comic book series enjoyed a healthy run from 1964-79, by the end of the run, the powers that be at Gold Key felt that not having Uncle Scrooge as part of the title was hurting their sales, so the former series was canceled, and this one premiered in its place. Other than this title change, there really was no difference in this series featuring the miserly Uncle Scrooge and his prime antagonists. Issues featured a combination of new and reprinted material.
