The Big Valley

There was a time on television when Westerns ruled the airwaves and The Big Valley was yet another one of them. On air from 1965-1969, this show was similar the very popular Bonanza. It told the story of the Barkley family trying to make a go of it on their 30,000-acre ranch in central California. Starring Barbara Stanwyck, Lee Majors, and Linda Evans among others, the show didn’t have quite the same popularity as the Cartwrights, and was quietly canceled after four seasons, as was the spin-off comic book title.
