Amazingly, even though there was a live-action feature film starring Sabu, no movie adaptation of this story was published in comic book form until Walt Disney’s 1967 animated feature film version. Classics Illustrated did do an adaptation of the book in its series, but it is really nothing like the movie. In Disney’s version, the animals talk and sing and basically cut up for comedic effect. This version has been reprinted numerous times, notably in Walt Disney Showcase and sequels were published in various spin-off titles.
