Monkey and the Moon Patrol

This black and white book claims a pedigree from the depths of veteran artist John Byrne’s web site. At one point there was great speculation on the site’s forum as to what the host’s upcoming assignment from DC would be. One wag suggested “Batman's Moon Police” as a potential title, which eventually mutated into its present form. After characters, stories and an elaborate publication history were developed by forum members, independent artist Rick Lundeen took it upon himself to write and illustrate a one–shot “2004 Special.” The tongue–in–cheek story showcases “M” (a super–intelligent simian in a Nehru jacket) and an eclectic band of special talents as they protect the Moon from the forces of evil and nature’s blind mischance.
