Inspired by such 1950s TV “space opera” fare as “Space Patrol,” “Tom Corbett, Space Cadet,” and “Captain Video,” E-Man co-creator Nicola Cuti wrote, produced, and starred in the pilot episode of “Captain Cosmos, the Last Starveyor,” the adventures of a cosmic survey team aboard the good ship Bedevere. Cuti’s E-Man teammate, artist Joe Staton (All-Star Comics, Legion of Super-Heroes, The Huntress), joins him on this fine comic book adaptation of a solid story that certainly generates some nostalgic feelings for not only the aforementioned TV heroes, but also the likes of comic strip and movie serial heroes Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers and Edgar Rice Burroughs’ John Carter, Warlord of Mars.
