In 1993, the relatively new Dark Horse Comics was already well-known for its comics based on existing properties like Aliens and Terminator. When they decided to break into the super-hero market, they didn’t want to do it randomly or halfway, so Dark Horse’s creative forces optimistically dubbed their new universe Comics’ Greatest World. Naturally, each of the four major regions in this new world was populated with its own unique group of characters (Ghost, the Vortex, X, Barb Wire), many of which were previewed in this freebie, available only with the purchase of Advance Comics, a monthly magazine/catalog for collectors.
