Starslayer

Starslayer is Torin Mac Quillon, a Celt, who began the first part of his life in ancient Britain. When the Romans began their invasion of that island country in 43 A.D., Torin took up arms against them. Although the Roman army was ultimately unstoppable, Torin fought bravely. The gods must have smiled upon him, for just as he faced his end, a bolt of energy stole him out of time and placed him in the distant future. There this barbarian began a different kind of battle.

Starslayers was one of the earliest titles from Pacific Comics during the independent publisher boom of the early 1980s. Created by Mike Grell, it was in many ways the counterpoint to Warlord, Grell’s first comic book creation. In addition to the adventures of Starslayer, the title became notable for hosting the first comic appearance of the Rocketeer, as well as giving birth to Grimjack with issue #10.
