Shooty Beagle

    (Eros, 1991)
™ and ©1991 Greg Budgett and Gary Dumm

Is Shooty Beagle a dog with a man’s body or a man with a dog’s head? No one knows, but he does have an annoying habit of “popping” to different times and places when he bites down on a TV remote. He also loves the ladies—human ladies, that is. Is this book an adult comic aimed at satire lovers or a satire book filled with sex? No one knows, but the editors at Eros should know that Shooty is a convoluted mess that tries a little too hard to be funny. In his inane travels, Shooty manages to meet with every dead celebrity we’ve seen a thousand times before, including Elvis, JFK, Marilyn Monroe, etc. Trying to be sexy, funny, and sci fi, Shooty ends up as none of the above.
