When tentacled bug-eyed monsters from the moon use their advanced technology to travel through time and change history it’s up to the Metaphysical Police to put things right. The Metacops, consisting of Albert Einstein, Leonardo DaVinci, Nikola Tesla and led by…Jayne Mansfield are charged with making sure history is not manipulated. And it doesn’t matter if the aliens do have a contract with President Lyndon Johnson and need this job to help their bottom line. Roman centurions who become werewolves, female foreign legionnaires on moas and talking elephants seem almost normal compared to Einstein and DaVinci firing a particle beam canon from a zeppelin.

A healthy knowledge of history is useful to understand what is being parodied, even though the crisp, clean art of John Heebink alone is worth the reader’s time.
