Boondoggle
(Knight, 1995-1996)
©1995 Stephen Steglin
Boondoggle is the mythical town created by cartoonist Steve Steglin to house a collection of humorous characters. Chief among the bunch is Beauregard McGillicuddy (a.k.a. “Bumper”), an effervescent orphan with attention deficit disorder and an appreciation for the finer points of junk food. He is accompanied on his adventures by a collection of anthropomorphic animals including the slacker bunny Aristotle, pig Potpie, and dog Flea.
This humorous cast first appeared in college papers at the University of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University. Steglin also created the spinoff strip “Quish Quosh” for the UC News-Record’s Entertainment supplement “Panorama,” episodes of which are reprinted here.
