Super Goof (Walt Disney…)

    (Whitman, 1965-1983)
©1976 Walt Disney Productions
Early issues published by Gold Key

Disney’s Goofy gained super-powers by eating super-peanuts (called “Super Goobers”). Still goofy as ever, he now has powers that rival Superman’s. As Super Goof, Goofy has the ability to fly, X-ray vision, super-breath, invulnerability, and other powers. Joined by a wide assortment of friends, including gadget-master Gyro Gearloose, he battles evildoers wherever they may be.

Super Goof ran as a quarterly series for some seventeen years. Its lighthearted style made a fine companion to other Disney titles such as Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories.

Oh yes—in case you’re wondering, Goofy is a dog.
