The Pirates of Dark Water

The far-off world of Mer was once a lovely place. Now, however, its chief city-state, Octopon, lies in ruins. Moreover, it is constantly threatened by a violent sea plague known as Dark Water.

One day, Ren of Octopon was tending lighthouse when he saw a ship about to be wrecked upon the rocky shores. He dived into the waters to save the lone passenger. The passenger, it turned out, was Ren’s long-lost father, King Primus. With his dying breaths, Primus bade Ren take up a quest to find the thirteen missing treasures which lie under the Dark Water. Only then will greatness be restored to the land. To obtain these, however, Ren will need to brave not only the natural dangers that surround them, but also the dread pirate king Bloth, who also seeks them.

This six-part mini-series is adapted from a Hanna-Barbera children’s show.
