Influenced by both Dungeons and Dragons-style role-playing games and Viking sagas and eddas, Runes of Ragnan revolves around a thousand-year-old battle between two immortal brothers, Eldjarn and Gunnar. Refusing to call it a battle of good versus evil, writer and co-creator Ty Gorton said, “Runes of Ragnan is about the complexity of the dominantly good character (Eldjarn) trying to do the right thing in the face of the dominantly evil character (Gunnarr).” In addition to all the combat, blood-letting and virgin sacrificing, Gorton and co-creator Joshua Medors offer Ragnan readers several pages of new RPG feats and character profiles for use in their own RPG campaigns.
