This one-shot features comic-sized reproductions of the second Marvel Masterpieces trading card set. The increased size affords a better study of the artwork, but also reveals much of it to be very ordinary indeed from artists with a good reputation. Standout pieces, though, include Jim Steranko’s triptych of 1940s heroes Captain America, Human Torch and Sub-Mariner, Mike Kaluta’s Spider-Man and Mike Zeck and Tom Palmer proving their painting is as good as their black-and-white work.
