Demon Realm
(Medeia, 1995)
™ and ©1995 Gregory Skopis, Art ©1995 Donald Kramer
Representing yet another example of self-publishing at its finest, Demon Realm, the ongoing series from Medeia Press, bursts onto the scene. Over ten years in the making, the stories that grace the title’s black and white pages are the brainchild of series creator and self-proclaimed comic book lover Gregory Skopis.
Beginning nearly 5000 years ago and stretching into the world of today, Demon Realm boasts the story of Earth’s unsung defenders. Contrary to what you may have learned while studying mythology, most of the Greek gods lost their lives in a spectacular battle to expel an army of vicious demons from this plane of existence. Left to guard the flame (or doorway into the “demon realm”) is Hercules and his heirs—each with double the strength and resilience of their forefather. Using this as its jumping point, the book covers the generation spanning battle of good versus evil, as the half-god’s descendants battle to keep this dimension safe from the clutches of darkness.
