It begins with a battle in deep space between an Earth ship and an equally matched craft from an alien world. Both ships were critically damaged by the fight, but neither would surrender, fearing that the opposing forces would go on to make war on the other’s homeworld. Thanks to the wisdom of Earth Captain Johner, however, a compromise was struck in which the two crews would intermingle, and each would travel home in the company of their new friends. What follows is an interesting story of mistrust turned into mutual understanding and friendship.
The first issue of this title reprinted the “Captain Johner and the Aliens” backup story that appeared in early issues of Gold Key’s Magnus, Robot Fighter. Issue #2, which appeared fifteen years later, reprinted issue #1 in turn. Finally, the series was recolored and released as Captain Johner & The Aliens in a new 1995 series from Valiant.
