Marvel brings Robert Townsend’s movie and super hero of the 1990s into comic book format. Part-time musician, part-time teacher, and full-time inner-city dweller and worrier, Jefferson Reed gets badly burned when a meteor hits him as he hides from ruthless thugs. He recovers quickly, however, and ends up with a wide array of super-powers, including incredible strength, speed, invulnerability, telekinesis and flight—all of which come in handy in defense of himself and others in an area overrun with crime and violence. But more importantly, the new Meteor Man unites the formerly victimized denizens of the area against the criminals and shows them that their own hope and courage can defeat the terror of drugs, violence and vice.
