Black and white series in right to left reading format.

With its scratchy artwork, Dead End doesn’t look like most typical manga and could reasonably pass as an independent American title. Its plot revolves around Shirou who encounters a mysterious girl named Lucy who fell from the sky. After falling in love with her, she goes missing, his friends are murdered, and he is struck with amnesia. Similar to books like Paradigm and Neverwhere, creator Shohei Manabe’s book creates a world that looks ordinary at first glance, but slowly reveals its odd traits as the story progresses. As Shirou tries to piece together what is happening to him, he and the reader are treated to an eclectic collection of freaks and bizarre situations.
