Many years ago, Millie the Model was Marvel’s major comic aimed at girls. By 1985, Millie was far too old for modeling herself, but she passed on hints to her niece Misty, the teenage star of this six-issue limited series. Written and drawn by Trina Robbins (The Legend of Wonder Woman), this title follows Misty and her friends on their various high school adventures.

As with many girls’ comics, the editors of Misty invited fans to send in fashion designs for the characters. If chosen, those designs would be worked into the comic, along with credits. About one-quarter of each issue displayed the clothing designs. The letters column answered questions about everything from dating to pimples. Those lucky enough to get their clothing designs published, received a Meet Misty Clothing Design Club card.
