Megaton Man

    (Kitchen Sink, 1984-1986)
©1985 Donald Simpson

In his badly-kept secret identity of Trent Phloog, he’s just another hulking, goggled reporter. But as Megaton Man, he’s a hulking, goggled super-hero! (You see the difference, right?)

Of course, it’s not all fighting super-villains (like the dread “Bad Guy”) for our hero. No, he has a sensitive, romantic side as well. For instance, he has an impossible crush on ace reporter Pamela Jointly. Strangely, despite his sensitive cries of “Woo! Pammy Baby!” she is somehow convinced that Trent is a macho jerk. In contrast, the nubile “See-Thru Girl” is dying to do some “patrolling” with him. The only problem: she’s married to super-hero Phil Flaccid.

Created by Donald Simpson, Megaton Man is a hilarious send-up of the super-hero genre, poking fun at everyone from Superman to the Fantastic Four.
