X-Treme X-Pose is a two-part limited series that explores how the media tries to uncover the private lives of the X-Men. Two journalists working for a TV program called “Spotlight” – described as “the cutting edge of broadcast journalism” – are assigned to find out the truth behind the X-Men’s enigmatic and controversial public image. However, they don’t discover much and the footage they shoot is often altered by their superiors to make the X-Men look bad. Veteran X-Men writer Chris Claremont mines the often-told theme of racism against the mutants.
