Alec Swan is the hardboiled star of this series. He’s a former secret agent from England, now living in Southern California. While in England he was a member of a covert bureau of the government called “The Lodge.” They were the ones who had given him the nickname “Firearm,” in reference to his expertise with a custom gun which fires everything from bullets to explosive charges.

Nowadays he makes his living as a private detective. Swan charges $2,000 per day plus expenses, but for that he’s willing to take on all manner of bad guys—including not a few ultra-powered criminals—in order to solve his case. He’s not very pretty, but he’s very good at what he does.
