Terminal Point
(Dark Horse, 1993)
™ and ©1993 Bruce Zick
Terminal Point follows an artificial human “Pilot” and his huge rover Equus. Equus, looking somewhat like a motorcycle, is actually a sentient time machine, which can actually think and react to situations. They were both tools of the Terminus Agency, which seeks to control time. It sends Web Runners like Pilot to critical points in time so they can install Terminus Beacons. When the beacons are put together, they will allow Terminus to change reality.
On one fatal mission Pilot encountered a primitive tribe. When the standard practices of posturing and trading trinkets failed, the tribe attacked. Pilot and his partner defended themselves, but Pilot refused to follow orders to retaliate and participate in the wholesale slaughter of women and children. He went “renegade” and was forced to flee from his own people, back to New York in 1946. There he would meet a beautiful lounge singer and start a new mission to stop Terminus.
