Although this series from Standard Comics was short-lived, by the end of it Sid Hoff’s feisty title character was being billed as “America’s Funniest Little Girl.” The validity of this claim is of course up to the reader, but Tuffy was still one of the first in a long line of young, spirited female characters, which included Little Lulu, Nancy, Little Audrey, and Little Dot.

In Tuffy’s case, her well-meaning antics usually revolved around her family and her friend Jerry, all of whom cherished her despite the fact she was a constant source of aggravation.
