Dragon Strike

    (Marvel, 1994)
™ and ©1993 TSR, Inc.

TSR is the company behind Dungeons & Dragons (“D&D”). In that game, players take on the roles of fantasy characters and try to think and fight their way through an imaginary scenario designed by another player (the “Dungeon Master”). Numerous other fantasy/ role-playing games have appeared over the years, undoubtedly encouraged by the lasting popularity of D&D.

TSR hopes to match D&D’s success with their new game, Dragon Strike. Dragon Strike is a game similar to D&D, albeit with a simpler set of rules. Dragon Strike also comes with a video tape showing live actors playing the parts of a wizard, warrior, elf, and dwarf—gathered together to battle an evil sorcerer. The video sets the mood for the game and acts as a sort of prelude. Afterward, players pick their favorite character and begin play. This comic is a tie-in to this game, further establishing the setting, and giving background on the characters and their struggle.
