Superman For All Seasons

    (DC, 1998-1999)
™ and ©1998 DC Comics, Inc.

Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in 1938, and became one of the most popular characters in the world. Since then, his origin has been retold often. In 1998, Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale went back to retell the story from a mythic, legendary perspective. This four-issue series reestablished his prominence in both DC’s line and in the industry. Every issue took a season as its theme, and related the story of Superman’s early times in a way that, at times, could be surprisingly dark and not always comforting. Highly regarded for its ambition and artistry, this mini-series was acclaimed by fans and critics alike.
