Lt. Elvis Maserov (“Shooter”) was one of the five people who survived alien genetic experiments on the organic world known as Plasm. These Warriors of Plasm wound up fighting a bloody war to save that world from anarchy, but upon returning home, they would discover that their own world knew nothing of their bravery. Maserov returned to find his apartment rented, the army scoffing at his newfound powers, and his girlfriend sleeping with another man.

Maserov’s new lease on life came when a drug dealer tried to mug him. Maserov, possessing super-strength, mugged the dealer instead. This set in motion a new career as a vigilante and freelance troubleshooter. He was joined in this for a time by his friend Rick (“Mouse”), a huge comrade from his Plasm adventures. As Maserov turned ever more brutal in his methods, however, their friendship became stressed past the breaking point.
