Erik Johnson has been plagued by dreams—dreams of a winged man with clawlike hands and blazing red eyes…an otherworldly vampire named Rune who’s come to kill him. Then, in the dark hours of July 1, 1993, his dream came crashing through his bedroom window.

The demon appeared before Erik, snarling of how Erik must die so that the demon might live. Erik’s parents heard the commotion and rushed into their son’s room only to have the demon kill Erik’s father with its horrible fangs. It was then that Erik discovered some sort of power within himself…a power that sent the demon crashing into a pole some fifteen miles away.

Immediately, a cover-up began with officials suddenly denying that anything had occurred, while both the demon and Erik’s family were spirited away to secret facilities. There they were to discover that the horror had just begun.
