Years ago, the megalomaniacal scientists of A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics) created a deadly cyborg called Minion, later recreated as Death’s Head II. Having seen the future, however, Death’s Head II knows that the A.I.M.’s future counterparts will one day take the living “metalflesh” of a beast called Charnel (who nearly destroyed the entire world in Death’s Head II (Vol. 1) and use it to form an even deadlier robot named Death Metal.

As this series begins, Death Metal has already laid waste to six worlds, a mad, unstoppable killing machine. Then he is swept up in a timestream and ends up in Toronto, Canada, in the present day. He does battle with Argon, a valiant defender who nevertheless is no match for him. Still, Argon wounds him, causing Death Metal to take him seriously. Death Metal decides to incorporate Argus’s consciousness, and in doing so temporarily gains sanity. He then realizes that for this world to live, he must die…
