On Rankor Island, the police take a dim view of vigilante justice. That’s why they’ve created an anti-vigilante task force called Violent Messiahs to head off self-appointed heroes like “Citizen Pain” who operate outside the law. Task force commander Lt. Cheri Major must conquer her own self doubts and fears as she encounters forces and foes she is only beginning to understand.

Violent Messiahs first appeared in 1997 with only a few black-and-white issues from independent publisher Hurricane. No one could tell if it was a super-hero saga, love story, or crime drama. Image is now beefing it up with new covers and color. Joshua Dysart’s odd little story is now back with an attitude mature readers will embrace.
