The Maze Agency is a group of detectives headed by the lovely and capable Jennifer Mays. She is joined in her efforts by Gabriel Webb, her somewhat overanalytical guy Friday. Each issue posed an interesting puzzle for the reader, with just enough clues being dropped so that a clever reader could puzzle out the solution before it was revealed in the end.

Much like TV’s “Moonlighting,” The Maze Agency was as much about the developing romance of the lead characters in the detective agency as it was about solving crimes. The romantic aspect was made particularly interesting due to their remarkably believable characterizations—credit going to writer Mike W. Barr.
