For comic lovers who missed the classic, sold-out stories first time around, or perhaps for readers who don’t want to be caught reading standard “comics,” we have Marvel Knights Magazine, a standard-sized 10X12 magazine that reprints stories from virtually all the Knights books, including Kevin Smith’s and Joe Quesada’s impossible-to-find inaugural run on Daredevil; Garth Ennis’ and Steve Dillon’s uproarious and ultra-violent Punisher; an absolutely luscious Black Widow as drawn by J.G. Jones and many others. Magazine-type features and text pieces abound, including short profiles of supporting characters (such as Spacker Dave from Punisher), previews of upcoming Knights books, farcical self-help “tips” from the main characters themselves; and even a sexy pinup or two (suitable for framing!). In all, not a bad way to sample the mature Marvel imprint, and far cheaper in the long run than hunting down and buying the back issues.
