Mad started as a comic book in 1952. When it turned into a slick in 1955, it was soon joined by a reprint anthology called The Worst From Mad in 1958. After various incarnations, this new anthology replaces the two most recent MAD anthologies—Mad Color Classics and Mad XL—making this the first full-color anthology in the square-bound format. History lesson aside, Mad has continued to reinvent itself and become the comedy voice of generation after generation. If you haven’t read a Mad in a while, this is a good way to reintroduce yourself with this new series.
