Martian Manhunter Special

When J’onn J’onzz travels to the distant planet, Naftali, to seek an ancient cleric who may have information on possible survivors of Mars, he becomes embroiled in a religious war. The holy man, K’rkzar, is rumored to have spent the past several hundred years developing a “one true religion.” But the myriad of religious factions on Naftali all fear what K’rkzar may proclaim and so are ready to silence him rather than risk a blasphemy that disagrees with their beliefs.

Rather than a Martian Manhunter special, this title seems more like a team-up book between J’onn J’onzz and The Darkstars, with whom J’onzz allies himself. The Darkstars have been assigned to protect the controversial cleric and keep an interplanetary holy war from erupting so J’onzz volunteers his services in what becomes a “can’t we all just get along” morality play.
