New Kids on the Block: Chillin’

Unless you lived under a rock in the late 1980s and the early 1990s, you know that the New Kids on the Block were a pop rock boy-band who made pre-teen girls’ hearts throb at a thunderous pace with their sappy song lyrics and their pre-fabricated good looks. This series from Harvey, the same folks who gave us Casper the Friendly Ghost and Richie Rich, presents NKOTB as something of a knock-off version of the Archie gang. Sure, they’re pop stars, but they still manage to have the time to travel through time to King Arthur’s court, chase girls, and unknowingly wreak havoc in the lives of others. Pretty pedestrian teen-comic fare, but certainly indicative of its time period.
