The Image Comics universe is a young one, but the creators have strived to create characters with long, believable pasts. One of these characters is the Troll, a character who’s short on stature, but long on power.

In this giant-size comic Troll relives a fifty-year-old case. During World War II, the Troll, an operative for the allied forces, teamed with British operative Abner Ravenworth, a.k.a. the [Union] Jack. Together, they kept the Axis powers at bay, especially the Nazi scientist, Dr. Franz Volger.

Fifty years later, the Jack was murdered. His granddaughter sought out Troll for help, and wound up getting Badrock in the bargain, who was thrust into the case for personal reasons. Working together, the three adventurers discover that their enemy is the same Dr. Volger that the Troll had fought in the past.
