Sparkling Stars

    (Holyoke, 1944-1948)
Holyoke

This fun and fabulous 1940s series had something for everyone in its pages. Among the characters featured on its pages were Jungo, the Man-Beast (which should look strikingly familiar to Tarzan fans); Ali Baba, a sweet little fool who finds himself in many silly predicaments; FBI and detective stories to entertain mystery lovers; Hell’s Angels, the exploits of the flying forces that helped win World War II; and a Western series. As if that weren’t enough, issues also included health advice, children’s puzzles, and a “Debunker” column that looked very much like Ripley’s Believe It or Not.
