Gambit (3rd Series)

    (Marvel, 1993–1995)
™ and ©1994 Marvel Entertainment Group

Gambit is Remy LeBeau, a Cajun thief with the mutant ability to “energize” objects he held, turning them into deadly weapons. First appearing in Uncanny X-Men Annual #14, he later joined the team and became a key member. Still, questions linger about his shadowy past. Moreover, he and fellow teammate Rogue have engaged in a long and stormy romance filled with unsolved problems that seem to be coming to a head.

This four-issue limited series gives Marvel a chance to explore Gambit’s character and history. It begins as a war erupts between the Thieves Guild and the Assassins Guild in Gambit’s native New Orleans. Leading the attack is Julien, the brother of Remy’s long-lost wife, Bella Donna. Since Remy had personally killed Julien with his sword, their reunion comes as a great surprise to Remy.
